Dispute Resolution that works for you

Appraisal and Umpire

Understanding and deploying the most appropriate dispute resolution tool is paramount to effective cost control for contractors, property owners, and insurance carriers. The appraisal process is best used when coverage is open, and the dispute primarily covers scope or cost.

Our appraisal service is open to both insureds and insurers, as we appraise without any interest in the claim outcome.

Our hourly rates are $125 for billable hours and $60 for drive time, with a federal rate per mile and a $100 file origination fee. Our fees average less than $2000 and can be contracted in a not-to-exceed format.

Flat rate appraisals are available for any groups of more than three, such as carriers, contractors, and public adjusters looking to close many files. A divided rate was determined based on the case files.

Examples:

1. A claim with damaged shingles but only a single slope is estimated for where damage exists on all slopes.

2. Dozens or hundreds of individual repairs where a full replacement would be warranted.

3. Unaccounted for damage and building code disputes

UMPIRE SERVICE

We started our umpire service because we were frustrated with long wait times and insane fees.

To address this, we strive for one-week turnaround awards for residential projects and one-month turnaround awards for commercial projects. Our fees are flat, at $3,000 for residential and $5,000 for commercial files.

We ask that a copy of the following documents be furnished to get started. When everything is in, the assigned, licensed adjuster reviews the documents for award write-up and preparation.

  • Both estimates

  • All available photographs

  • Any existing position statements

  • Local building code ordinance
